Do I need a PC and if so, what type?

To enjoy your new Digital collection you will need some form of media player / storage. A PC or MAC is the natural choice being well suited to both storing large amounts of data and organising in a readily available Media Library. In addition there are increasing numbers of Multimedia devices available. Visit our Media Players section to see some of the latest hardware available. If you decide to use your PC, it will need a DVD drive or USB port for importing the digital files. Pentium Pro generation & above for Audio & Pictures, but a higher specified machine is required for smooth Video playback.

How to know if I have enough space on my PC?

Within the different Media convert sections Photo, Audio & Video, tables list the files sizes for each digital format and compression. Take a look at these and sum up the different media types to get a safe estimate of the Total conversion size. If the storage space is tight, or you find yourself compromising on quality (i.e. using a higher digital compression / lower bit rate or resolution), consider buying a external hard drive or Multimedia player to store and publish your media. The advantages being it is portable between PCs, it can be stored away safely, and even used to backup other files.

How do I get my Digitized media back?

We will deliver your Digital media on DVDs (or CDs if requested). These are read just like any other optical disc and the files copied onto your computer using Windows Explorer. Then the discs may be stored safely as backups. Larger or Dual format orders we would recommend purchasing an external hard drive for convenience.
